About Our Church

St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church was established on October 1, 1957, by His Eminence James C. Cardinal McGuigan, Archbishop of Toronto. Two priests from The Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Charles (Scalabrinians), which was founded by Saint John Baptist Scalabrini (1839-1905), bishop of Piacenza (Italy), were assigned to St. Paschal Baylon Church.

The missionary focus of the Scalabrinians is to provide pastoral accompaniment for the migrants with a special priority for the poorest migrants. In the fall of 2016, seeing the growing presence of Korean immigrants attending St. Paschal Baylon Church, the Scalabrinians, with the authorization and full support of the auxiliary Bishop of Toronto, extended their pastoral activities by offering the Holy Mass in Korean, first on a once a monthly basis, and later on extending it to twice a month, on the first and third Sundays at 6 p.m. The have invited a Korean priest as a guest to help them in providing this pastoral need.
